True repentance begins when we recognize that God is the source of everything in our lives. Instead of living as though we are masters of our own destiny, we surrender to His Spirit and allow Him to shape us. The more we yield to Him, the less we depend on the strength of the flesh.

Many misunderstand God's patience. Romans 2:4 speaks of the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering. His delay in judgment is not approval of sin but an expression of His mercy, giving us time to repent, return to Him, and obey His voice. Paul reveals that humanity is divided into two groups: those who seek God by patiently doing good and those who seek themselves, refusing to obey the truth (Romans 2:7-8).

God first established circumcision with Abraham as the sign of His covenant. Yet Abraham had already obeyed God decades earlier by leaving his homeland in faith (Genesis 12:1-4). This shows that physical circumcision was never the source of obedience; it was only an outward reminder of an inward faith. External signs, religious practices, and human determination cannot overcome the desires of the flesh. They may change outward behavior for a time, but they cannot transform the heart.

God desires something far greater—the circumcision of the heart. This inward work of the Holy Spirit changes our nature from within. It becomes as natural as breathing, producing a life that willingly responds to God instead of constantly struggling against Him. As God promised, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you" (Ezekiel 36:26). When our hearts are transformed, we no longer seek the praise of people but desire only the approval and glory of God (Romans 2:29).

A circumcised heart opens the door to God's immeasurable spiritual riches. Those who seek Him with all their heart discover His perfect plans and find Him (Jeremiah 29:11-14). We begin living from His unlimited resources: the riches of His grace (Ephesians 2:7), the riches of His glorious inheritance (Ephesians 1:18), the unsearchable riches of Christ (Ephesians 3:8), the riches of full assurance (Colossians 2:2), the riches of the glory of this mystery—Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27), the riches of His wisdom and knowledge (Romans 11:33), and the riches of His glory, by which He supplies all our needs (Philippians 4:19).

Today, God's goodness is still leading people to repentance. His patience is giving you the opportunity to turn from trusting the weakness of the flesh and surrender to the transforming work of the Holy Spirit. Allow Him to perform the circumcision of your heart, so that you may seek Him with all your heart, soul, and mind, living for His approval rather than the praise of people.

He is waiting for you to stop the exhausting, failing battles of the flesh and step into the effortless flow of the Spirit. As your heart is transformed, your life will naturally reflect Christ, bringing glory to God and allowing you to experience the immeasurable riches He has prepared for those who seek Him.
